Ask anyone to give you secrets of the trade and you might be surprised by what you end up with. I often visit the gal who does hair from her home in my area. She is nearby, affordable and really damn good! Color, cuts, styles and secrets. Yup. She is one of the best, if not the best hair magician and one really honest bean. Being a journalist, I always want to know everyone’s story. And this one had me taking notes. Here’s why.
Boring Garden Salad Meets Mango Madness
It’s that time of year when my kitchen turns into a test kitchen and the annual tradition of getting the most out of the season’s veggies and fruits begins.
We eat salads for some pretty boring reasons – dieting, health etc.
Shedding the last few pounds, fitting workouts into your schedule and eating right is tough enough but that doesn’t mean your salad has to taste boring because your cutting calories and trying to save time.
In fact your salad, if done right, makes for a great meal and can pack everything you need onto one plate. Simple, easy, healthy and cost effective recipes – here is the first in a series coming your way this season.
Just be ready to toss some funky flavour in your bowl and hang on! You will be sharing this – so make extra.

Your Time of Death…oops I mean ‘Time of Birth’ Voicemail
For years, I have been wanting to know my exact time of birth. My mom always would give me a “guesstimated” time because all she remembers is the pain that starting just after midnight that one spring evening and has lasted ever since – that would be me – lol.
So recently, I phoned up the hospital I was born in – Mackenze, BC and requested to the records department to look up the exact time of BIRTH! I don’t know why I waited so long to ‘just ask’ somebody but the response I got was not only a huge question answered but offered a little bit of a shock.
We talked about it on the show of course. Here it is as heard on RJ 1200’s Wake Up Call
I found out the news in one of the funniest yet very startling voice messages anyone has ever left me. Take a listen here: Time Of Birth Voicemail
